A Classic Nantucket cottage rental

Welcome to your true home-away-from-home

Nestled on a quiet side street in the old historic district, and a peaceful 3-minute walk to Main Street, rest the charming Jefferson Cottage. This perfectly appointed Cape Cod style private cottage is a welcomed departure from the typical Bed and Breakfast, hotel, cottage or house rental you may find in other popular vacation destinations.

Jefferson Cottage feels like your own home, impeccably designed with all the comforts, warmth and luxuries for you to enjoy an unforgettable New England island retreat. Jefferson Cottage is the ideal companion to the grace and style of Nantucket living.

Accommodations and Rates

Welcome to Jefferson Cottage, your home away from home during your Nantucket vacation. Originally built around the turn of the century, the cottage underwent its first renovation in 1922. However, it was the renovation in 1999-2000 that brought the cottage all the comforts and conveniences that you see today.

As a frequent traveler, I am keenly aware that sparse accommodations, economy linens, and other disingenuous shortcuts leave you feeling further from home than the miles you’ve traveled. I couldn’t bring myself to give you the same loathsome experience, which is why you will find true antiques, fine china and luxurious linens throughout this comfortable home. It is my feeling that if a house feels like a home, guests will respect it and treat it accordingly.

The most recent renovation also brought a fully stocked gourmet kitchen featuring exquisite granite countertops. The granite was formed by glaciers depositing river rocks on the South African valley floor, which compressed over millions of years. I became enamored with the stone during my many trips to Africa, and I am proud to share a piece of one of my favorite places with you.

A feast for the senses… all of them

Additional cottage conveniences include high-speed cable and secure wireless internet connection, complimentary local and long-distance calls, a washer/dryer just off the master bedroom, and two full baths. But the luxuries are not exclusive to the cottage interior.

Pass through the French doors and discover more of the cottage’s charming features. Surrounded by lush, newly landscaped English gardens, the private patio is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee, grill hamburgers with your family, or peacefully end the evening with a glass of wine.

All the details have been attended to for you to enjoy a wonderful Nantucket vacation.
